Why is it that music mega stores in the United States provide very little of international music?

My uncle always complain that Americans are always self absorbed. I noticed that even bigger music stores like Virgin have a very small 'international music' section. I'm wondering where to buy Korean/Japanese/Chinese music without having to order it online. Obviously I can't go to any of the countries. I live in Southern California. Any suggestions? And don't send me to China town. I don't want any illegal copies.

1. That's not just an American thing, though. Go to any country and you'll find mostly music from that country. Try ethnic stores. They usually have some music you can buy there(as well as movies, foods, drinks, some clothing, etc).
